Welcome Home!

With some helpful hints like this, Baptist Women's Hospital discharged Walt and Ginger today at about 4PM.  We arrived home to be greeted by Ginger's family.  Among the dignitaries was one Collier Crouch, Walt's 10 week old cousin.  You can see Ginger and her brother holding their sons here.  Today has been much calmer for us all.  Walt continues to get the hang of life here on the other side, and Ginger continues to improve.  The only mishap occurred when Putty, that would be Frank, lost control of the only helium balloon Walt has ever received in his entire life.  It came to rest in the neighbor's tree.  Here's a picture:

We love all of the fantastic comments.  Thanks so much for your emails and support.  Keep it coming.   (Be sure to  check out more pictures in the photo album at left.)

  1. I'm so happy for ya'll, and I'm glad Ginger is doing well. I know ya'll will be wonderful parents. I had to talk Uncle Larry out of coming down this weekend. I'm sure you had enough company, but maybe we will make it soon. For now please give Walt a kiss for us. I know my daddy would be so proud!

  2. Congratulations! I'll have to make it down this spring so I can get a formal introduction. I'll be checking the site daily until then.

  3. Hey Ginger, Audrey was born over 13 years ago and I still don't look that good. How do you do it? The day after she was born, I still looked 29 months pregnant! Congrats. Can't wait to see Walt in person.

  4. Baby Walt,
I love your website! You are such a cutie pie and I can't wait to see you in person! I know that your proud parents are so excited to have you here safe and sound. You are a precious blessing and the result of many prayers!
And one more thing...just remember that if you happen to get any speeding tickets when you start driving, your dad can take care of them for you,(unless of course, it is a Shelby County ticket, then you will have to go to driving school)!!!
    See you soon,
    Joy

We are so happy for you & can't wait to see little Walt! I notice your blog reveals (through what goes unsaid) that "the first baby" has already been (at least temporarily) forgotten .... maybe Evie can form a support group with our Wink & Alli!

  6. I, for one, truly appreciate the fact that you provided evidence that said balloon did, in fact, land in a tree. Now, if you could simply show said tree in proximity to Walt's house... the story could be validated.
    Cute kid, by the way.
