Despite my jovial appearance in the above photo, I have just given Walt his first stern lecture about the financial security of this family. At the rate at which he was filling those two diapers in my hand and the one around his bottom, he would be lucky to afford pre-school, much less Harvard.
Long story short: I changed one very dirty diaper, put another on, leaned over to throw the dirty one away, and I heard the tell-tale sound of a diaper being filled. Well, I changed that one, too, because I'm a good father, and as I was about to throw the second one away, little Mr. Poopy Britches filled up his third diaper in as many minutes. At that point, there was only one thing to do . . . take a picture, of course, and publish it on the Internet for all to see. Enjoy.
By the way, I don't always hold him like that, but he just insisted on looking at the camera. He was arching his back like he'd never done before. Very proud of himself, I guess.
Go Walt!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWatch out though, before you know it the grown-ups put you in the yard with Evie!!
Love Puppy
Hey Walt,
ReplyDeleteLoved the story! A tip from an older woman: Try doing this when they bathe you ! Your mom and dad will never complain about the diapers again!!!! I tried it and it works like a charm!
Bye Anouk
I'm Brenda, and I'm a Walt-oholic! I couldn't look at the website all weekend, and I was having withdrawals yesterday. But I'm better now -- so many cute pictures! I don't understand the problem with sleeping. He looks so alert in most of these pictures. Ya'll are handling it very well, though, and I promise it will get better. To my knowledge Teri sleeps through the night now, but even after 32 years I can still remember how tired I was those first 6 weeks or so. Well, I have to work now. Give Walt a kiss from his Great-Aunt Brenda. And, hang in there, Josh and Ginger. He is certainly worth the loss of sleep and the dirty diapers.
ReplyDeleteKnowing your daddy and the influence your 'Putty' has had on him the past 30 years, something tells me that bubble on your head was not an accident but just another act of aggravation, which would make anyone look cross-eyed! That's okay, though, because when you get old enough, Nana will help you get back at Dad for all the things I remember him doing to you while you are so helpless. And I think your dad can attest to the fact that I DO have a pretty good memory. DAD BEWARE!!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good job on your initiation of Evie!
