Tearin' It Up

Firstwalk21405

Walt's last thirty-six hours have been full of firsts.  Yesterday, he went to church.  He skipped out on half of Sunday school, but he listened intently to the sermon and even took a few notes.  Actually, he slept through church and grunted through Sunday school, but then again, that describes a good number of old men at church, too.   Unlike the old men, he endured quite a few ooohs and aaaahs from the old ladies he met.

Today, I came home early from work, and Ginger and I took Walt on his first stroll around the neighborhood.  He liked it a lot.  We always know he likes something if he sleeps through it.   After the third bump, he was out like a light and stayed that way for the duration of the two plus mile walk.  By the way, Evie enjoyed getting out of the house, too.  She is currently sleeping off her part of the walk on the back of her favorite chair.

As if that wasn't enough, Walt also went to his first "sit down" restaurant after his stroll.  We just kept on strolling  and went around the corner to the local Mexican restaurant for dinner.  Tacos and quesadillas were delicious, and Walt behaved himself the entire time.  A true socialite if ever there was one.  Stay tuned; Mom and Walt are planning their first shopping trip later this week.  And don't forget the much anticipated first road trip this weekend.  Nana and Putty, here we come . . .

  1. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO THE NEW LOVE OF MY LIFE (DON'T TELL PUTTY, OKAY?)!
Could you possibly get any more precious than you are in that stroller. Mommy and Daddy will want to keep a copy of that so they can compare it to when you get your first car (hopefully you will look a little bit more excited). I know if Putty had been in the neighborhood, there would have been complete footage of the entire 2+-mile first stroll. What a fun and memorable trip--the first of many, I know.
Thanks for those delightful hours we had to spend with you this past weekend. We're already preparing for you to make your grand entrance into the big city of Goodlettsville. All your relatives (you know, those people who will stare at you and immediately say who you look like) have been notified of your arrival and have been invited to come by to check you out since I know they've never seen another baby as beautiful as you. Be a good boy on your shopping trip with Mommy so maybe she'll buy you something 'real nice'!!!
    I love you, Walt!

  3. Walt,
For your first shopping trip, make sure your Mommy takes you to TOYS R US to let you pick out a fun toy, and not to one of those "cute little children's boutiques". Tell her that you have all of the sleepers and onesies you need. Oh, one more thing, don't let her tell you that you can only spend $5. Just pick out the coolest toy in the store and say "Put in on the plastic, Mom!" She'll know what you mean. Have a good time! Miss you!

  5. Wow, already a month here, Walt. You just get more handsome (if that's possible) with each picture. Thank mom and dad for me for taking those shots. I enjoy them immensely!! Glad you were able to take a stroll. Days are flying by and soon you'll be taking mom and dad for a stroll.
    Have a great one,
    Love, Mrs. Trotter
