This is one of the many sleepers generously donated by the McAfee family. Walt's wardrobe would be about one-fourth the size it is without the hand-me-downs from Nicholas. Walt sends his thanks!
The "sweetpea" moniker was not exactly fitting last night. Our normal routine of oh, actually SLEEPING at night, was replaced by Walt's nightowl act. Josh was up with him until almost 2:00 a.m. and then I took over and Walt and I both fell asleep with me holding him in the glider around 3:00. Josh came and woke me up about 4:30 and I was finally able to put him down without him waking up screaming five minutes later. Mommy and Daddy were not amused. (He is still cute, though.)
Oh, and sorry about the lack of a post yesterday. Not only was it a rough night, it had already been a rough day. Today was much better, thanks for asking.
I'm feelin' your pain this morning...we had a very similar experience with cousin Collier last night. Apparently Collier thought it was "All You Can Eat Buffet Night" at the Crouch house! He was up three times to eat...and of course didn't want to go back down when he was finished. I'll be struggling at work today...the bags under my eyes are lovely. Ahhhhh....motherhood!
ReplyDelete2:00 am... That's got to be hard on the morning run, not to mention those 9:00 am court dates. This is almost a horror story just waiting for me and Autumn, huh? I don't know why I keep reading, but I will. You can laugh later!
ReplyDeleteHey Walt,
ReplyDeleteI'm not feeling well today. My Dad had to take me to the doctor this morning and they said I was very sick...my Mom came home early from work to take care of me...that's one way to get her back home!
If you are up again tonight at 2 a.m., just ring my celly...I should be up too! I wish I would have known you were up last so we could have had a chat then. I have lots of good things to tell you!
Miss and love you! See you in a couple of weeks....call me!
Not that I'm the greatest parent on the planet...not by a LONG shot...but I do have a little bit of advice. With my first, Sarah, we picked her up in the middle of the night, and we held her while she went to sleep, etc. BAD IDEA. I had to hold her while she went to sleep for three years!
ReplyDeleteTwo years later, along comes Jack, and we tried a new experiment with great results. I tell this to all of my friends who are new parents, and so far every one of them has thanked me for it later: as long as the baby is NOT SICK...change 'em, feed 'em, burp 'em, and put 'em back in the bed! It will be complete hell on the two of you for the first few nights, but sooner or later, little Walt will learn to sleep soundly on his own.
Repeat after me: change 'em, feed 'em, burp 'em, and put 'em back in the bed.
Good luck.
