Finally! Some real news here in Walt's World:
The picture pretty much says it all, huh? Mike? What's that you say? Why does this post have such a strange title?
Well, because we are always striving to entertain, we recorded the exact moment at which Walt found out the big news earlier this evening. Enjoy. We're due in September.
Yeah! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWalt, will you at least be a little bit open to talking about maybe a "Mary Ann"? I guess it's just going to be important that he/she enjoys playing with monster trucks, huh?
ReplyDeleteSomehow I just knew Walt would have an opinion(s)! Is that blackboard in the kitchen large enough for a countdown calendar to Sept?! I actually prefer "Mike" over "Blobby"...but "Mary Ann" would be lovely!!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Congrats, Spicklers! Can't wait to meet Mike.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, the grandparents and I are on the same page...I am WAY more comfortable with Mike than Blobby. Hilarious. That was a joyful start to my Friday.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooooo exciting!!!!!!!! That was such a sweet video:)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I thought this would be a great opportunity to talk to Adam about God's goodness and love for us. So I just asked Adam if he remembered how we had been praying for Josh, Ginger, and Walt to have a baby. Then I told him that God answered our prayers because Ginger has a baby in her tummy, so in a few months "Walt will be a big brother just like you." His response, "But we had one first. We won!" I guess it's time for another type of lesson now!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! I'm all teary-eyed and happy for you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Spicklers !! wonderful news, So happy for you all.
ReplyDeleteWe all say CONGRATULATIONS! And we are so excited about another great neice or nephew. Oh yes, tell Walt that Mike could be a nickname for Michelle :-)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! We very excited to hear of your terrific news! Walt will make a marvelous big brother!
ReplyDeleteThat kid is an original!! Mike!?! We will take a Mike any day! Congrats to you all.
ReplyDeleteLove you

I agree - Mike's a good name! I have a friend who in a similar situation, the older sibling chose George. They were having a girl, but he became so insistant - even telling the nurses that the parents were calling her Catherine, but her name was George. The child's name is George to this day - legally and officially...so be careful with that compromise unless you REALLY like Mike either way!! But Mike Spickler has a very nice ring - Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Walt! You'll be a great big brother! When it's a girl and born on September 18th you can call her Anouk :-)! We are really happy for you all.
ReplyDeleteLove from Holland
congrats!!!!!!!!!!! yay!

Cutest.video.ever. The whole "Mike" thing is one of those stories that will follow Walt for the rest of his life, so at least it's an acceptable name that he chose!
ReplyDeleteAs an Old Testament guy, I feel it is my duty to point out that King Saul's daughter and King David's first wife was named Michal, which is likely (according to Martin Noth) Michael without the theophoric element. That is, while Michael means "who is like God", Michal means "who is like for" which makes no sense. That 'e' really makes the name. However, if Noth is right (and really even if he isn't), then Mike would be a very acceptable girl's name.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Michal is not the most redeemable character in the Old Testament, so you still might consider another name if it is a girl. (Side note: I once met a Jewish girl in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic with the name Tamar. So it could be worse. If you're not sure why Tamar is a weird name to call your daughter, read Genesis 38 and 2 Samuel 13.)
Oh, and congrats!
Congratulations to you ALL!! I'm so happy and excited for you. Will be praying for a safe and healthy pregnancy! My best to you all. (And mom says congratulations as well!)
ReplyDeletecongrats you guys!
ReplyDelete"walt & mike" has a nice ring to it.
What a fun video! I'm sure Mike will love it when he/she gets to see it one day. I am so happy for you guys, and I love the name Mike (as a fan of Growing Pains, who couldn't?)!
ReplyDeleteWow, so I haven't visited Walt's World in a while! Congratulations! The video was precious--brought tears to my eyes. The "mistaken baby bump" scene was particularly hilarious. God bless your family during this wonderful time.
