Parenting Techniques

Okay, so I've pretty much read all of the parenting books ever published by now (I picked up the obsessive researching gene from my father), and I have yet to read the tip that says, "When you come in from running errands and your little angel is sleeping peacefully in his car sear, it is okay to just leave him sitting there by the front door, fully dressed for outdoors, most likely sitting in a dirty diaper, until he wakes up."  Is there a reason I've never read this?  Am I just a bad parent?  Because it kind of seems like a no-brainer to me.  We got home over an hour and a half ago, and I'm just now starting to hear the early signs of waking up.  I've gotten to pay bills, fold laundry, return emails, etc.  Walt is not usually a very good napper during the day, so I take what I can get, you know?

  1. Hey, and if it is not too cold, you can leave him on the porch, keep the smell out of the house! I babysat Anouk today for 2 hours and I had one pee and TWO poo-diapers!
So yes, you are so right DO NOT WAKE HIM UP unless absolutely necessary!!

  2. A sleeping baby is a happy baby. Heck, a sleeping Kate is a happy Kate.

  3. Aunt Harriet forgot to tell you, that she didn't leave me on the porch! Puppy didn't mind the smell and the worst diaper was for mommy. We had a great time. I'll miss her so much!

  4. Aunt Harriet didn't forget, just didn't want to give you any ideas, Walt. When we hang out remember the golden rule "bad diapers are for mommy!"
