My oh my, where does the time go? Truly, I'm not sure, but wherever it's going, it's in a big hurry to get there. The first six months of Patrick's life have been a bit of a blur (although that might just be the sleep deprivation). And this time, it's not like we've got much of a blog record to jog our memories -- blogging has fallen to about 17th on the priority list. Right in between watching Tivo'd episodes of Project Runway and doing the taxes (and I'm not saying which of those is higher on the list).
But as crazy as things are, we're generally having a good time and are CERTAINLY never bored. In the sixth month of his life, Patrick took his sixth trip to Nashvegas to see the Spickler fam. First stop, Cousin Macy's house.
It was past his bedtime. And Walt had probably just given him a noogie. He looks a little happier in this self-portrait he and Uncle Daryle took:
While in Nashville, Nana, Aunt Gigi and I decided to get away for a little girl time. For Christmas, I gave them both Clinique gift certificates and the promise that we would all go get makeovers one weekend I was in town. I'm probably going to get into trouble for posting this, but here's our "before" shot when all three of us bravely went forth in public with no makeup . . .
and after!
Don't hate us because we're beautiful.
But back to the baby. Who, it was determined at his six month check-up yesterday, is approximately 17 pounds and almost 26 inches. He's got a little size on his brother at the same age. I can only hope that means he'll grow up to be bigger than Walt and will be able to exact revenge for all the pokes and prods he's had to suffer thus far. And yet . . . he ADORES his big brother . . . watches every move he makes and reserves his biggest grins for Walt's antics. And it seems to be a mutual admiration society because Walt loves his baby brother to pieces. (Let's just hope that stays metaphorical.)
Patience, young Jedi. He won't always be twice as big as you.

You girls look really pretty! Sorry you can't beat the three little cuties. Great pictures especially the ones of the Spickler brothers.
