After allowing the concrete to set for the requisite 72 hours, the new playground was open for business today! The kids at Peabody Elementary broke it in first and then the neighborhood under-5 set (plus a few veteran kids) showed up in the late afternoon to test it out.
Of course, the part of the playground Walt was most excited about was the stage. When I told him that the playground was open and that we would be setting off for a first visit momentarily, he said, "Can I take my instruments?" After being told he could, he turned and ran off to his room, saying, "I will go pack them!"
Once we got there and he had his band assembled, he stood on the stage for quite a while just screaming, "Rock and roll!" at the top of his little lungs. That's our boy.
And just for posterity, I feel I must post the following picture, taken at the Neighborhood Church's Easter egg hunt yesterday. Who is that handsome bunny? Well, let's just say that I make it a practice to kiss only my husband.
Josh, watch out for Puppy. she didn't like the easter bunny too much
ReplyDeleteyeah, when walt's a wealthy rock star supporting us all in our dotage, i hope the lareau's get more credit for the instrument set than we did at the 3rd bday party. how's THAT for a sentence?
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm--is that Easter bunny any relation to HARVEY? Seems there may be another picture in Josh's history where he and a rabbit are close buds.

ReplyDelete1) If here is a stage...Walt will be entertaining on it!! And yes, the Lareaus (sp?) should definitely be mentioned as Walt accepts his first Grammy or whatever the Rock 'n Roll awards are called. But, Chris and Kate, I would still be nervous about Meredith's birthday gift from the Spicklers!
2) What a cute couple...Ginger and the Easter Bunny! I love it!!!
