I convinced Walt to help me pull weeds and dried up, dead flowers from the flower beds in front of the house. We were preparing the yard for the National Night Out Against Crime. We hosted a block party last night.
Daddy: We need to pull out all of the brown ones and shake the dirt off, then put them in a pile right here.
Walt: OK, Daddy. [Squatting and doing just that]
Walt: [Standing and looking at the dirt on his hands] Daddy, this dirt's dirty. We need some new dirt.
Daddy: [Silence . . . what do you say to that?]
Get that boy some CLEAN dirt!
ReplyDeleteGuess some of Walt and Putty's shopping money will now be spent on new dirt--everybody needs to replenish their dirt every now and then. By the way, whose responsibility was it to get the new dirt for the block party?
ReplyDeleteUmm...I think there are people to see about that. More likely, though, he'll just turn out like his dad: there's always something...dang ole dirty dirt.
ReplyDeleteSmart boy! Smart parents too, I will be happy to explain the dirt thing to Ping Pong if in exchange she pulls the weed for me. Or is this something I will get in trouble for with Child Services?
ReplyDeleteWalty, get cleaned up, I am coming very soon. I am now in North Carolina. The house is like a palace, with a pool! But with a 101F outside,I'll wait a bit, no sens in getting fried on the first day.
Just LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThere's a load on the way, Walt!
