While Mommy and Daddy were away at a church retreat this weekend, Walt got a lot of quality one-on-one time with Gram. She came to Walt's World and babysat on Walt's home turf. Some of you may recall that, in the past, Gramtime has been responsible for some significant advances in baby development. She seems to inspire Walt like no other. Of course, she used to do the same thing with Evie, but that's another post for another time. Some people are just gifted like that (or intimidating, we're not sure).
Well, this past weekend, she must have spent some time working on Walt's verbal skills. In just two and a half days, he has taken to it like we feared he might. He'll try to copy anything we say to him. This is scarier than I can explain, so let's concentrate on the things that she didn't teach him.
Like how to blow bubbles:
Or drink from a Gatorade bottle:
Or fill said Gatorade bottle in a sanitary manner:
I repeat, or drink from a Gatorade bottle:
Or water plants (Walty, you missed):
Oh well, next was a trip to the park for a photo shoot. Walt, as usual, donned his shades in order to remain incognito.
It didn't work, and sure enough, Meredith and her mom and dad spotted Walt at the coffee shop and demanded a photo. (Or was that Gram's idea?) Walty seemingly couldn't be bothered as he had a muffin at the time. But he took a few seconds for them nonetheless. What a guy.
Gram said she had a great time. As soon as the chatter around here subsides, Gram is welcome back anytime.
Walt,
ReplyDeleteGram had the BEST weekend...better than Disney World (by far!). Thanks for making it soooo easy by: 1) always doing what you were told (almost always) 2) letting me know when I left Evie in the utility room 3)letting me play and play and play 4) singing "itsy bitsy spider" with me...over and over and over. I'll bet you were glad to see Mommy and Daddy when you woke up from you nap yesterday. I can just see that big smile that you gave them! Walt you are such a sweet boy and I love you soooo much. Can't wait to see you again in a few weeks! XOXOXO
Walt,
ReplyDeleteI am so glad Gram and I have had our NO SPOILING AGREEMENT since you were born. It certainly paid off this weekend when Gram was able to be there all that time, and still you're not spoiled. I see what a big helper you were to Gram by watering and helping to keep Evie in line. I know it's hard being such a big boy, but you are so good at it.
Well, I've got to run; I'm calling Granddady right now to see if Gram was spoiled when she got home because it looks like maybe you did some spoiling over your fun weekend. Gram will think all 18-month-old boys are as well-behaved and as disciplined as you are! Nana loves you!!!
Hey Walt, You must be very special, Gram skipped the sidewalksale in Murray to be with you! My Ajax-buddies are very pleased with your shirt-choice. They didn't win this weekend, but they would have lost worse if you hadn't supported them. By the way how are we on the sponsormoney? Do we have enough already to fly me over and play with your musicalride ALL DAY?!?! Of course just the first few notes!!
ReplyDeleteLove you sweet friend!!
Hey Walt, looks like you had fun with Gram! Send her to us anytime!! I can now count 'til ten in English and maybe she can teach me some more words! Bye, Anouk
ReplyDeleteThe CCWWE has joined together to voice a concern about the moderators of Walt's World. It seems that upon the receipt of said new camera on the lead moderators BIRTDAY, the aforementioned promised more frequent posts (complete with Dazzling pictures on the "fancy-shmancy " - direct quote, new camera). It seems, however, that since the birthday post on July 26, 2006 (in the year of our Lord), there have only been 3 (yes, count them) posts. That's an average of 1 posts every 4.66667 days. The CCWWE wishes to inform the moderators that they must adhere to our concerns and post pictures of Walty more often. He brightens the day of many people around the world. The world can always use a little more Walt.
ReplyDeletehear hear!!
ReplyDeleteWalty,
ReplyDeleteit's okay that you still don't know how to blow bubbles. At least you don't lick the bubble wand like your cousin Collier.
