Are You Ready for Some Football?

Walt apparently is.  He happened to discover his sweater with the football on it in the closet the other day and promptly hopped up and led me to Josh's closet where he stood there pointing and exclaiming most adamantly about something.  It took dumb Mommy a few minutes to catch on to the fact that he wanted the football that Daddy keeps in the top of the closet.  The only problem is that he can't figure out which position he wants to play . . .

Center, maybe?

Nah, not enough face time on Sports Center.  How about kicker?

Definitely fun, but kickers get no respect.  (Undeservedly so, in my opinion.)  Ah, I think he's got it now . . .

Chicks always dig the QB.

  1. Chicks or no chicks, and whatever the position, when you play, you can bet there'll be one of the loudest cheerleaders you've ever heard in the stands.
You're the greatest, and Nana loves you!
P.S. Be patient--sometimes mommies are a little slow, but you're one of the luckiest boys I know to have the mommy you have.

  2. Not a kicker.... My daddy was a kicker and mom was always teasing him. I would imagine with a speedy as you looked in the speedo pics in the past, you might have a little running back in ya?
Truth be told though, you look cute in ach of the pics.

  3. Walt AKA Stud-jock/neophyte politician/future Rhodes (NOT the one in Mempho!) scholar,
IT'S FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!! and I'm hankerin' for some 'Rocky Top.' Your cuz, Druuuu! Dever, is a Jr. Pro QB and it's true, the chicks DO dig him (sniff, sniff)! Maybe he can work you in on a little punt, pass and kick lesson...IF WE EVER SEE YOU AGAIN! It's been SO long and you're such a precious. Tell your parents, "I want to go watch my cousin Drew play...and sometime before he gets drafted by the Titans, please!"
    We love you!

  4. Walt,
I'm taking you as my #1 QB on my fantasy football team. Please let me know when your bye week is so I can be sure to play my #2 QB, Peyton Manning. See you in a couple weeks!

  5. I guess I'd better be getting my voice in shape for cheering you and Collier on in your game(s) of choice. After all the "sports" posts last weekend, the handwriting is on the wall! I can't wait!!! Where's the soccer ball? Nana and Putty and Grandaddy and I will be on the front row. I've already had plenty of practice sitting on bleachers. The football pictures are great! Love and kisses!
