Walt's First Speedo

Now that I've got your attention, I think you should see these pictures.

Ginger always wants me to post because she says I'm funny, but for these pictures, there's just not much I can say.  But I'll try.

"Does this suit make me look fat?"

He's fast in and out of the water.

Of course, by "fast" I mean slow and fat.

Although the sunglasses help, he looks less like Mark Spitz and more like a sinking watermelon.

I'll give you a minute to recover. . . OK.

This weekend was all about water.  Obviously, the pool was part of it.  Then, earlier today, during a late-afternoon rain shower, Walt absolutely demanded to be taken outside.  I had been doing yard work, so I took off his shirt,  and we went outside.  What a bizarre little boy.  Who likes standing in the rain when there is a perfectly good porch just a few feet away?  Then he gave me 'high fives'.

Before we went to the pool on Saturday, we went back to the Memphis Farmers Market.  Of course, Walt gravitated to the musicians.  These guys were quite a hit.  Here's a shot from Walt's perspective:

For some reason we always save movies until last.  In case you were thinking that Walt goes to the pool just to sit on the side and look good . . .

  1. Speedracer Waltie (#3, posed as if at a starting line) is going to be my desktop for the week. I feel certain that it will help me keep my perspective.

  2. You may want to hide/destroy these Speedo pictures before his teenage! My guess is that he will say something like, "What were you guys thinking?!" Personally I think they are hilarious...especially the racing picture. Looks like Daddy likes standing in the rain too!

  3. Lookin' sharp, but...Speedo indeed! That's NOT a Speedo. It's an '06 rendition of a 1951 'classic,' just like his great-granny's (on his Dad's side). And what's up with the green color? Her's is a svelte black and white. I'm sure if y'all would just let him do it himself, he'd be really fast in the water as well.
My advice? Pick a 'real' sport...like football, basketball or baseball. Swimmin' is for hot chicks and rambunctious behavior (see the movie 'Sandlot' for explanation).
    Love ya!
    GREAT Uncle Brian

  4. That suit will work well for the ice-dancing competitions for which he is destined. Get that boy some skates, hair product and sequins for that outfit and he will be ready to roll.
