Here Comes Walty Claus

Image007

We are fully in the Christmas spirit here at the Spickler house.  We bought our Christmas tree tonight, and Walt set the mood with his Santa hat.  By the way, he despises the hat, and it's a test of Mommy's reflexes to get a picture of him in it before he rips it off and throws it down.  Mommy was obviously at her quickest for this one.

On to the tree shopping . . .

Funny how the 32 degree weather speeds up the decision making process.  We found one (with John's help) really quickly.

All we needed to do was avoid the fate of our friends, the Lareaus, whose tree fell off in the middle of Poplar Avenue on the way home from the tree lot.  Fortunately, John was more adept at the tying down of the tree than the Girl Scouts that the Lareaus bought from.  We made it home with the tree, and Walty promptly gave it the once over.

He ordered us to decorate it, and then went to sleep.  The nerve of some kids.  Here's the finished product.  Walt will have to wait until morning to see it.  We think he will approve (and then pull it over on himself).

  1. Well, I must send Walty Claus some snow since we have some to spare here. It would be the perfect addition to his festive home! Glad to see another photo of mommy made an appearance on the blog! She is getting quite famous. (apparently so is "John")

  2. Even without decorations, the tree is beautiful because of the present beneath it that is wrapped in an orange sweater. Christmas Past(s) have been wonderful, but Christmas Present is going to be the greatest! That has to be the most precious face in the world (even though he despises the hat).
We love you, Walt, and thanks for all the joy you've brought us in these past short months.

  3. Great camerawork, Mommy! Not only were you quick enough to "catch" Santa's hat still on Walt's head...but he even looked happy to have it there! Kudoos, also to Daddy's camerawork on Mommy and Walt looking for the tree...so sweet! I hope you all know how we LOVE being a part of the special moments of each day through the website. Nana is absolutely right...Christmases present and future will be filled with such fun and joy just because you will be there! Have fun with your Christmas tree, Walt...it is beautiful! We love you so much. HO HO HO!

  4. Good job in bringing home the tree, Ginger! How did you manage to take the hat-picture. You took it just after Josh dropped the hat and jumped out of the picture? That is how we managed to take our christmascard picture with Puppy and the hat her first christmas. Loved the pictures and the tree too. Will take our tree picture tonight. Walty, Enjoy christmas, it is gone before you know it and you will have to wait a whole year before it comes back!!!
    Love from us

P.S. Your Red Rider B.B. gun is wrapped and ready to go. Evie should love it as much as you!
