It looks like the baby/dog relationship is on the mend. Evie has gone from confusion to poutiness to apathy and is now coming around to mild curiosity. Walt, on the other hand, has gone straight from being completely oblivious to her to utter fascination. If Evie is around, he is watching her. Even Mommy can't compete! As I type, he has maneuvered himself around on the blanket so that he doesn't have to look over his shoulder to watch her. Now Evie has gone (off to do very important puppy things, I'm sure) and he is craning his neck around further to see if he can find her. Poor little fella doesn't realize that until he has Cheerios to offer Evie, he is of no use to her.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the computer is going with us on vacation, so be sure to check in here and at Collier's Corner for baby beach pictures! (And don't worry about Evie -- no kennel for her! No siree, she has a very competent puppysitter coming to stay with her. She won't even have to compete for affection with that pudgy, round-headed thing!)
Walt is setting up his strategy, I'm sure. If I had my guess, this may be Evie's last days of quiet solitude at 2070 Nelson. Walt, be nice and bring Evie back a souvenir so she won't go back to her pouting stage. I detect good buddies on the horizon!!
ReplyDeleteNana and Putty love you and wish we could see you at your first sight of the "big" water. Send lots of pictures and always wear your sunscreen! Nana doesn't want to reminisce about the time I let your daddy get burned (the one Putty won't let me forget).
Hi Guys--just stopped in to see the newest developments in Walt's World. I truly enjoy his blog. As a new parent myself, it's wonderful to get to (somewhat) witness other parents experiencing the same joys and wonders of having a little dude around. Particularly when they are as hilarious and clever as the Spicklers. Once again, though, I have to comment that this baby looks like 100% Josh (sorry, Ginger). Whatever you're doing, it's working, he is an absolute doll (I am referring to Walt, for the record). Keep the posts coming-your fans are out there!
ReplyDeleteOne note of caution: I don't know if Walt is at this stage yet, but we just took Owen on his first vacation to the beach as well. However, the beach aspect was cut short when he started shoveling handfuls of sand into his mouth with Allen Iverson-esque quickness.
Walt, I want to play with you too!! Can I come to the beach with you? I love the ocean!
